PIPT (Product Ingredient Patch Testing) is a rigorous clinical protocol that goes significantly further than a standard patch test. It evaluates whether a product causes sensitisation or irritation under repeated, extended exposure: the most accurate simulation of real-world daily use.
Unlike self-certified "hypoallergenic" claims, PIPT is conducted by an independent certified laboratory and evaluated by a qualified dermatologist. The outcome is either documented confirmation of safety, or the product doesn't launch.
For Vesper Life, PIPT is not optional. It is the minimum standard before any product reaches a parent.
Testing is never conducted in-house. An independent certified lab runs the protocol and issues the report.
9 induction sessions over 3 weeks, simulating daily product use on the same skin site under controlled conditions.
After a 10–14 day rest period, the product is applied to a fresh site. Any reaction confirms sensitisation, catching what standard patch tests miss.
Every reading is scored by a qualified dermatologist using a standardised scale. Subjective interpretation is removed from the process.
